B&G wind sensors
B&G’S new WS320 wireless wind sensor is aimed at cruising and club racing sailors and promises to significantly reduce the time needed to install the masthead unit.
Long-term reliability of masthead wind sensors has historically been poor, but B&G says it has conducted 200,000 hours of field-testing without failure. The wireless sensor transmits data up to a distance of 25m at the same rate as Garmin’s WS310 wired model. It is paired with a Bluetooth device to interface with NMEA 2000 systems and costs around £100 more than the wired version.
