Co-op to slash £75m off prices
STORES: The Co-operative Group has introduced a wave of price cuts, spurring on the supermarket price war. The Co-op said the price reductions on more than 200 of its ownbrand British-sourced meat and poultry products would total £75m. Its move follows salvos already fired this year by Asda, Morrisons and discounter Aldi. Industry data shows that the Coop was the fastest growing non-discounter.
