Directors taking the high road
THREE DIRECTORS of a Yorkshirebased business have embarked on the world’s mst famous long-distance cycle challenge to cover nearly 1,000-miles in support of charity.
Kevin Dawson, operations director at Wakefield Acoustics, and finance director Paul Hebden are cycling the length of Britain from Lands’ End to John O’Groats as part of the Deloitte Ride Across Britain.
The challenge will see participants try to complete the 969-mile ride in just nine days. The ride kicked off on September 9 and passes through 23 counties.
Wakefield Acooustics’ deputy chairman Jane Dawson will join the ride in Penrith to cycle the final 450 miles over four days through Scotland all the way to the finish line.
Kevin and Jane Dawson are undertaking the challenge to raise awareness and support for mental health charity MIND and Paul Hebden is riding for Woman V Cancer. The Deloitte Ride Across Britain is now in its seventh year.
