Di­rec­tors tak­ing the high road

THREE DI­REC­TORS of a York­shire­based busi­ness have em­barked on the world’s mst fa­mous long-dis­tance cy­cle chal­lenge to cover nearly 1,000-miles in sup­port of char­ity.

Kevin Daw­son, oper­a­tions di­rec­tor at Wake­field Acous­tics, and fi­nance di­rec­tor Paul Heb­den are cy­cling the length of Bri­tain from Lands’ End to John O’Groats as part of the Deloitte Ride Across Bri­tain.

The chal­lenge will see par­tic­i­pants try to com­plete the 969-mile ride in just nine days. The ride kicked off on Septem­ber 9 and passes through 23 coun­ties.

Wake­field Acoous­tics’ deputy chair­man Jane Daw­son will join the ride in Pen­rith to cy­cle the fi­nal 450 miles over four days through Scot­land all the way to the fin­ish line.

Kevin and Jane Daw­son are un­der­tak­ing the chal­lenge to raise aware­ness and sup­port for men­tal health char­ity MIND and Paul Heb­den is rid­ing for Woman V Can­cer. The Deloitte Ride Across Bri­tain is now in its sev­enth year.
