IT’S HARD to find an obvious

Game of Thrones connection between star Peter Dinklage and the Yorkshire village of Dodworth. Diary

was intrigued to discover that a surveying company based in Dodworth played a behind-the-scenes role in the creation of a Super Bowl commercial that was viewed by more than 100 million people.

1st Horizon Surveying & Engineering Limited delivered on-set 3D laser scanning services for a prime-slot commercial that was screened during Super Bowl 2018.

A spokesman told Diary: “The commercial, which featured Peter Dinklage and long-time silver screen legend Morgan Freeman, included a face-off between the two actors, representing Doritos and Mtn Dew respectively.

“1st Horizon’s expertise was used to capture multiple 3D scans, on-set, using sophisticated Faro Focus 3D laser scanners.

“The scan data was then exported to PointCloud software, before being delivered to the commercial’s production team.”

It’s further proof that Yorkshire’s expertise is valued on a global stage.
