Digital agency director is fueled by a desire for the motoring fast lane
A love of all things petrol powered started Behrooz very early for Saeed, director at creative digital agency, Tall.
Other than my family, of course, I would have to say cars, motorsport and generally anything powered by petrol is my passion. The attraction is a combination of design, engineering, smell, exhilaration and adrenaline.
I remember being fascinated by cars from a very young age, sitting in my grandad’s car for hours on end pretending I was driving. I would flash the lights to let people go and indicate to turn left and right. I had washed his car so many times it had faded the paintwork.
He recognised my passion and kindly bought me a pedal kart. I used to drive it around the house all the time doing threepoint turns and parallel parking – I was only four.I was lucky that even though I was never really introduced to motorsport by someone I knew, my family certainly never discouraged it. Whenever we were driving in the dark we used to play a game – the challenge was to name the brand and model of a car either from its front or rear lights. I’m even pretty good at that game now to be fair.
I honestly believe that subliminally and even from a very young age there was a deep-down interest in cars from a design angle. Let’s face it, there are some pretty desirable cars out there and it is the detail I have always been interested in.
I would say that my favourite car has to be the Ferrari LaFerrari. Essentially, it is a road legal Formula One car, so as you can imagine the performance is unbelievable. I’m proud that this passion of mine has taken me overseas. I’ve been to numerous car related events: British Grand Prix, Belgian Grand Prix, British Motor GP, Goodwood Festival of Speed, Classics Racing at Portimao race circuit in Portgual and, of course, the Nürburgring. I’ve been to most of the well-known race circuits in the UK and I’ve even ridden a motorbike around Donnington Park.
Years back I produced a website for a team that raced in the British GT as part of a sponsorship deal. It was fantastic to be able to use my skills to work on something that I am most interested in.
Other than me driving to work every day, unfortunately motorsport doesn’t play a massive role in my work. I would love to be given the opportunity to work with an automotive brand, that would be a dream come true.
We’ve been working on some really exciting projects where we create manoeuvrable 3D models demonstrating how the machines work. To be able to create something like this for a race-car would be awesome.
