Exchange has a thirst for Kombucha

A healthy drink brand brewed in Hebden Bridge has been listed by another Yorkshire business that specialises in promoting up and coming British products to retailers.

The Great British Exchange, which is based in Harrogate, has listed Equinox Kombucha on its trade marketplace which is used by retail buyers across the country.

The organic and vegan drink is marketed as a healthy alternative to sparkling soft drinks.

Joe Kidder, of Equinox Kombucha, said the deal with The Great British Exchange would make it easier for independent retailers around the country to stock the product.

“The deal with The GBE has the potential to catapult us into new parts of the UK and bring the kombucha experience to more people,” he said.

Matt Hopkins, managing director of The Great British Exchange, said: “The kombucha market is growing as consumers turn their backs on sugar filled sparking soft drinks and their diet alternatives.”

Equinox was started in 2012 by a group of school friends who had discovered the drink when backpacking in Asia and decided to brew their own at home.
