Opera to be performed at the bar

Yorkshire Post - Business - - NEWS -

Opera comes to the masses this week, in the slightly unconventional setting of a bar.

This Wednesday Opera North is holding a special ‘pop-up’ opera for people to enjoy after work in the relaxed, informal setting of Manahatta on Merrion Street, Leeds.

Whistle Stop Opera is a lighthearted introduction to the world of opera in the company of three singers and an accordionist. At just 30 minutes long, it is for anyone unfamiliar with opera who is keen to find out more.

“Whistle Stop Opera will take you on a journey through all the emotions you’d expect to feel when going to the opera,” explains director John Savournin.
