Founded in 1943, Talgo is a Span­ish man­u­fac­turer of trains rang­ing from in­ner city ve­hi­cles to high speed ser­vices.

Head­quar­tered in Madrid, it pro­duces trains which are used all over the world in­clud­ing in In­dia.

Its UK plant is set to com­ple­ment its cur­rent twin man­u­fac­tur­ing bases in Spain.

Its bosses have pre­vi­ously said that it’s UK plant could be used to man­u­fac­ture rolling stock for other British ap­pli­ca­tions as well as ex­port op­por­tu­ni­ties.

Other firms in the run­ning for the HS2 con­tract in­clude CAF.
