HISTORY OF TALGO
Founded in 1943, Talgo is a Spanish manufacturer of trains ranging from inner city vehicles to high speed services.
Headquartered in Madrid, it produces trains which are used all over the world including in India.
Its UK plant is set to complement its current twin manufacturing bases in Spain.
Its bosses have previously said that it’s UK plant could be used to manufacture rolling stock for other British applications as well as export opportunities.
Other firms in the running for the HS2 contract include CAF.
