Em­ploy­ees still lack­ing sup­port

UK com­pa­nies are still slow to adopt best prac­tice on is­sues such as parental leave, and fam­ily com­mit­ments, ac­cord­ing to a new study.

The re­search by Be­nen­den Health re­veals the ex­tent to which em­ploy­ees lack the sup­port to cope with the pres­sures of fam­ily life. The re­search con­cluded that 75 per cent of em­ploy­ees are find­ing it dif­fi­cult to bal­ance fam­ily com­mit­ments with their work and only 4.2 per cent of re­spon­dents re­ported not hav­ing ex­pe­ri­enced stress, fi­nan­cial prob­lems, men­tal health is­sues or a break­down of re­la­tion­ships as a re­sult.
