Car­toon­ist’s work goes on dis­play

AN ex­hi­bi­tion of work by a Pri­vate Eye car­toon­ist is cur­rently on dis­play at York City Screen. Mike Barfield has been con­tribut­ing the Ap­par­ently... car­toon to the mag­a­zine since 1996 and to mark 50 years of Pri­vate Eye, the York­shire artist, who lives in Helperby, has launched his own trib­ute to the satir­i­cal jour­nal. The ex­hi­bi­tion runs un­til Novem­ber 4, but from 1pm this Sun­day Mike will be in the Sky gallery, just off Coney Street, to an­swer ques­tions about his work and ca­reer. Se­lected prints will also be avail­able to buy.
