Alec Bald­win was born in

New York in April 1958. He has three younger broth­ers, Daniel, William, and Stephen, who also be­came ac­tors. He also has two sis­ters, Beth and Jane.

Bald­win made his Broad­way debut in 1986 in Joe Or­ton’s Loot with Zoë Wana­maker. Other stage roles in­clude Stan­ley Kowal­ski in A Street­car Named De­sire for which he re­ceieved a Tony nom­i­na­tion.

Film roles in­clude Jack Ryan in the 1990 film Hunt for Red Oc­to­ber, a fe­ro­cious sales ex­ec­u­tive in Glen­garry Glen Ross (1992) and got an Os­car nom­i­nated for his role in the 2003 gam­bling film The Cooler.
