Peu­geot hits the highs and lows

ANAL­Y­SIS of more than 20,000 War­ranty Di­rect poli­cies on three-to-seven-year-old cars made by Euro­pean man­u­fac­tur­ers, com­pared claims for re­pairs, and gave the top spot to Peu­geot’s 207 (above). It had 6 per cent in­ci­dent rate but its av­er­age re­pair cost of £332 was eas­ily the high­est of the top 10 mod­els. The Re­nault Clio (fifth) had a 21pc in­ci­dent rate and low­est re­pair av­er­age of £173. Bot­tom was the MercedesBenz SL (47pc and £742).
