Try the ‘posh down South’ lifestyle

Yorkshire Post - Motoring - - NEWS -

WHILE it is undoubtedly not always Grim Up North there is always a chance to experience the Posh Down South lifestyle. For £195 you can attend Boodles Ladies’ Day on September 6 at Salon Privé’s concours d’elegance at Syon Park – or £225 to watch judging the following day. Or £295 for the Diamond Jubilee Ball on the evening of the 6th. A table for 20 is offered at the nondiscounted price of £2,950 – all prices subject to VAT. That does include Champagne (Pommery), lobster for lunch and afternoon tea in the grounds of the Duke of Northumberland’s London seat. Oh, there will be plenty of cars to look at, too. Bentley is showing its fastest production car to date, the 205mph Continental GT Speed. The show’s chief judge, Bentley brand ambassador and renowned long-distance racer Derek Bell, said: “Having driven the car at full tilt and poured over it in detail I can emphatically confirm that it is one of the most impressive pieces of British engineering and craftsmanship of 2012.”
