Donington revs up for big weekend
GET INVOLVED. That’s the theme for this year’s Donington Historic Festival which takes place in April.
The event at Donington Park in Leicestershire will include stunt driving lessons and drift driving in Caterhams designed to give visitors the chance to create their own motorsport experience.
A new format has also been introduced, with qualifying for all grids taking place on Friday, and plenty of race action lined up. This has allowed the festival to attract its biggest line up of cars to date, from pre-war grids to cars from the early 1990s.
The ‘elder statesmen’ get their own event, with pre-1941 vehicles taking part in the Motor Racing Legends ‘Mad Jack’ for Pre-War Sports Cars, featuring famous marques such as Alfa Romeo, Alvis, Aston Martin, Bentley, Bugatti, Frazer Nash, MG, Riley and Talbot.
Richard Grafton, commercial director of Historic Promotions – which organises Donington Historic Festival – said:“We are committed to creating an atmosphere in which families and fans alike can experience motorsport first-hand.”
The event runs between
April 28-30. Tickets are available online at www. doningtonhistoric.com or on the 24-hour hotline on 0844
