THIS property in Ripon has the X-Factor at least by association.

James Heron, the owner of 4 Lark Hill Close, runs Green Hippo, which supplies scenic video equipment to the entertainment industry.

The marketing arm of his company is still based in Ripon.

He says: “When we first set up the company, it was me in a tiny Ripon industrial unit, building two or three systems a month while my business partner beavered away in a London flat writing the software. Since then, things have really taken off.”

James now has 18 staff and supplies equipment to a host of Saturday night television programmes such as X-Factor and Dancing on Ice, as well as West End and Broadway theatre and arena live music tours by Take That and George Michael.

He is selling his Ripon home to downsize to Harrogate.

His house has five bedrooms, ample parking, storage space and a garden complete with Koi pond and is five minutes walk from Ripon’s acclaimed schools.

The property is on the market for £320,000 with Beadnall Copley. Tel: 01765 698100 www. beadnallcopley.co.uk
