World Cup impacts on sales figures
The housing market in Yorkshire stalled slightly in June, according to the latest Agency Express Property Activity Index.
The latest results show that the number of monthly house sales in the region fell in June by 0.8 per cent, compared to a 5.3 per cent decrease nationally.
Stephen Watson, managing director of Agency Express, says: “The heightened interest in the World Cup and the number of games shown live seems to have affected homebuyers’ determination to close the deal on their prospective properties.
“With interest rates still at record low levels and house prices having stabilised, we can expect to see house sales continue to grow in July before the holiday season kicks in.”
