“I started it five years ago after looking for something new and challenging to do. Someone pointed out that matchmaking was my forte and I started the service.
“It’s very discreet. People come here and I ask them about them- selves and then I sit and think who on my database would best suit them.
“I’ve had about 150 successful introductions and a few weddings, including a couple this month. It’s a wonderful job because it makes people happy.”
The service is run from a large office in the south-facing house that was built six years ago by Lesley’s husband Geoff, a local builder. “He’s built five houses for himself in the village so far. It’s getting to be a bit a joke,” says Lesley.

“We’re planning to move to something smaller.”
