Eco town land on market for £ 4.65m
A mammoth 555 acres of prime agricultural and development land at Oulton in West Yorkshire is on the market.
The land was previously proposed as an eco town and is part of the Oulton Hall Estate, close to Junction 30 of the M62.
It is for sale as a whole or in a number of different lots with an overall guide price of £ 4.65 m.
The eco-town had been planned by Oulton Hall (Isle of Man) Ltd, who wanted to build 9,000 carbon neutral homes, together with six new primary schools, a secondary school, an urban farm, a cemetery and a new dual carriageway.
Jonathan Hyland, a partner with Knight Frank in Leeds, says: “That plan has bitten the dust and the land is now back on the market and providing a rare opportunity to buy a diverse portfolio of prime freehold and agricultural land.
“The Oulton Hall Estate is blessed with an amazing location, south-east of Leeds, close to Wakefield and the M1 and next to Junction 30 of the M62. The estate is suitable for residential, commercial and leisure use, subject to planning and there has already been expressions of interest.” Visit www.northern.knightfrank.com/view/Oulton
