Re­gion ahead of trend on prices

House prices rose 0.1 per cent last month, though York­shire is punch­ing above that with a 0.9 per cent in­crease.

The data, from the Land Registry House Price In­dex, shows an av­er­age an­nual price in­crease of 8.4 per cent, while in York­shire, prices have gone up by 5.7 per cent over the last 12 months.

Wales ex­pe­ri­enced the great­est monthly rise with a move­ment of 2.9 per cent. The North-East re­gion ex­pe­ri­enced the most sig­nif­i­cant monthly price fall of 1.3 per cent.
