Apart­ments in the Gra­nary Wharf devel­op­ment, Leeds are sell­ing well prov­ing there is life in the Leeds city cen­tre mar­ket.

The canal side devel­op­ment has 288 flats, of which 100 have been sold and there are 30 reser­va­tions. Most buy­ers are owner oc­cu­piers, rather than in­vestors, ac­cord­ing to Guy Ack­ern­ley, part­ner at King Sturge, Leeds. One bed­room apart­ments cost £130,000 and two bed­room flats £175,000.

Over in York, Ben Prid­den of Sav­ills re­veals that prime prop­erty in the city is out­selling other ar­eas. He says: “Un­der nor­mal cir­cum­stance Au­gust is a quiet month, but this year we had a fine run. By the end of the month we had sold 10 prop­er­ties with a com­bined value of £6.3m.”
