A new survey of the auction market suggests that the number of residential property lots sold and offered at auction has increased substantially during the past three months.

The quarterly trends survey, produced by the National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers (NAVA) and EI Group, show that there were 3,018 residential property lots offered in July 2010, nearly a 50 per cent rise on the 2,039 lots in June and 2,102 properties in May. Melfyn Williams, chairman of NAVA, says: “These statistics confirm that the residential auction market is now moving forwards.”
