Rural market will stay steady
Despite some gloomy forecasts in the national property market, the situation in North Yorkshire remains steady, says Tim Brown who heads the Bedale office of rural property specialist George F. White.
He adds: “As we move into the autumn, usually a fairly active period for sales, early indications are that in the face of looming cuts in public sector spending and fears of another dip in the economy, the property market will remain steady rather than rise. In addition, mortgage lenders are remaining very careful. The bottom line is that property prices are still very high, even after factoring in a respectable correction over the last two years.”
