Yorkshire better than average
THE latest data from the Agency Express Property Activity Index shows that monthly house sales in Yorkshire fell in November, but it was a less significant drop than had been expected.
It found that the number of residential house sales agreed in the county fell by 11.5 per cent compared to an average 5.8 per cent drop in the UK as a whole.
Compared to November 2009, sales were down 29.6 per cent but up 53.3 per cent on November 2008. In York, house sales fell by 6.4 per cent and in Leeds they were down 20 per cent.
The number of new For Sale signs that went up in Yorkshire in November was down 6.7 per cent and the number of properties put on the market was 21.9 per cent lower.
