Fore­cast for house prices is sta­ble

MORE house price statis­tics – the Land Registry, seen as the most re­li­able of price in­dices, shows prices down by 0.6 per cent in Novem­ber but up 2.2 per cen­tover the past year.

In York­shire, the registry says prices fell 0.3 per cent in Novem­ber but rose 0.4 per cent over the year.

London prices fared best and rose 6.8 per cent over the past year.

Na­tion­wide’s lat­est data shows av­er­age prices down 0.4 per cent year on year.

How­ever, York­shire was the weak­est area, with prices down 3.4 per cent.

Na­tion­wide pre­dicts that 2011 prices will be sta­ble, but with the prospect of slight de­cline.
