Forecast for house prices is stable
MORE house price statistics – the Land Registry, seen as the most reliable of price indices, shows prices down by 0.6 per cent in November but up 2.2 per centover the past year.
In Yorkshire, the registry says prices fell 0.3 per cent in November but rose 0.4 per cent over the year.
London prices fared best and rose 6.8 per cent over the past year.
Nationwide’s latest data shows average prices down 0.4 per cent year on year.
However, Yorkshire was the weakest area, with prices down 3.4 per cent.
Nationwide predicts that 2011 prices will be stable, but with the prospect of slight decline.
