Paying more for the right property
THE market may be in the doldrums, but the right property can still fetch well over the asking price, according to Tony Wright, head of residential for Carter Jonas in the North.
“We’re finding that the right properties are still creating strong interest and that there are buyers willing to pay over the guide prices to secure the property they want.”
Manor House in High Birstwith, Harrogate, had 40 viewings within three and achieved a sale price significantly over the £1.25m guide. Holmstone Cottage in Collingham sold above its guide price of £175,000 and had 51 viewings.
Tony adds: “The market is uncertain but Yorkshire is a popular area to live.”
