Prices falling in search of sales

SELLERS are dropping their prices in an effort to sell their homes, according to property website Zoopla.

Bolton shows the highest rate of reductions, at an average of eight per cent off compared to 6.9 per cent nationally.

Rotherham, at 7.9 per cent off the original asking price and Doncaster, at 7 per cent, are in the top ten locations for price slashing.

Across the UK, 37.4 per cent of all properties listed for sale have experienced at least one price reduction since coming to the market. The figures, say Zoopla, provide a clear indication of sellers becoming more realistic in terms of their expectations and will be a welcome sign to buyers.
