Land Registry reports
THERE is a rash of house price reports this week. The most respected indicator the Land Registry Index reveals that March prices were down 1.1 per cent and there was an annual fall of 2.3 per cent.
This brings the average house price in England and Wales to £160,996.
The only region to experience an increase in its annual price change is London, with a rise of 0.8 per cent.
The region with the greatest annual price fall is the North-East with a movement of -9.3 per cent.
In Yorkshire, prices fell by one per cent in March and by 5.19 per cent over the year, leaving the average price at £120,567.
The Nationwide reports that prices fell by 0.2 per cent in April.
