Students give top yields to landlords
STUDENTS and young single people generate the highest yields for landlords, according to buyto-let mortgage specialist lender Paragon.
Paragon say students generate an average yield of 6.45 per cent, while young singles generate 6.22 per cent. In Yorkshire, student property yields were amonfg the highest in the UK at 6.5 per cent.
At the other end of the scale, non-housing allowance benefit claimants generate the lowest yields at 5.78 per cent.
Nigel Terrington, Paragon Group chief executive, says: “Student yields typically outperform the wider market because they are let on a per room basis, which can generate higher rental income.”
