Builders in char­ity chal­lenge

BUILDERS who work for prop­erty de­vel­oper Con­roy Brook em­barked on the Habi­tat for Hu­man­ity’s an­nual Hope Chal­lenge.

The ‘Hopa­long Har­rys’ were Richard Con­roy, Andrew Bat­tye, Graham Bar­ber and Gary Lis­ter and they joined 34 other teams trekking 20km and spend­ing the week­end liv­ing in shel­ters they made from scav­enged ma­te­rial in a field near Edale, Peak District.

The Hopa­longs made a home out of old pal­lets, tar­pau­lins and roof­ing lats.

They raised £4,000 for the char­ity, which pro­vides shel­ter for home­less and vul­ner­a­ble peo­ple in third world coun­tries.
