House sales show June slump

BRI­TISH house sales slumped in June, ac­cord­ing to an on-the­ground sur­vey. Es­tate agency boards firm Agency Ex­press says that both house sales and new For Sale listings fell.

The num­ber of houses where For Sale boards con­verted to Sold in June fell by 13.7 per cent com­pared to May. How­ever, it is not un­usual for house sales to fall in June. The heav­i­est falls in house sales in June were in the South-East (-18.8 per cent), Greater Lon­don (-15.9 per cent), York­shire (-14.9 per cent) and the South-West (-14.8 per cent).

Le­ices­ter was the city with the great­est in­crease in monthly house sales with a rise of 55 per cent.
