Top-end properties beat the record
THE top end of the property market has seen asking prices surpass a three-and-a-half year high, according to the latest Prime Index from property website PrimeLocation.com.
Their index, which tracks prime properties (the top quarter of UK properties by asking price monthly), found the following:
Asking prices for prime properties have reached their highest level nationally since December 2007, when the index began
Over the last three years, the average asking price of a UK prime property has increased by 13 per cent, while asking prices across all properties have fallen by 0.2 per cent. Asking prices for prime properties increased by 1.3 per cent in May.
