Lock firmspotlights key dangers
RESEARCH commissioned by key safe specialist, Master Lock, has found that households are leaving themselves at risk by undervaluing their spare keys.
A survey of 1,000 homeowners found that around half keep spare keys with people who do not live with them. One in 50 of those asked continues to hide their spare keys outside in insecure locations, such as under door mats, bins and even rocks.
One in 20 said they had been a victim of crime because of poor key management.
Andy Culhane, of Master Lock UK, says: “Poor key management could leave both you and your loved ones at risk.”
