Country home with lots of potential

Yorkshire Post - Property - - PROPERTY -

ANYONE wanting to take on a country house project should take a look at Marske Hall, near Richmond.

On the market at £2.5m, it was last sold in 1951 in a semi-derelict condition purely for its valuable stonework.

The businessman who bought it saved it from demolition by converting it into flats.

It still retains a host of period features including carved balusters and fine Italianate plasterwork together with impressive fireplaces and walnut panelled rooms.

Nick Talbot, of Carter Jonas in Harrogate, says: “It will appeal to a purchaser looking to restore it to its former glory”.
