Appeal of country estates to let

Yorkshire Post - Property - - PROPERTY -

LARGE rural properties to let are creating interest, according to Carter Jonas.

They have recently let two estate properties, Londesborough Hall, a nine-bedroom house in East Yorkshire and Waterton Hall Farmhouse, Garthorpe.

Rachel Hinchliffe, of Carter Jonas’s York office, says: “As the property market has stalled, we’ve found there’s been a significant increase of tenants who are looking to rent large rural properties so they’re not tied down to a mortgage or have the responsibility of the upkeep of the property, especially in these still uncertain economic times. We are also finding there’s an increase in these high-end properties coming on the rental market, as owners look to create an income.”
