Prime properties see prices soar
ASKING prices for the top 25 per cent of British properties have soared since the start of the year, according to the latest Prime Index from property website PrimeLocation.com.
Surprisingly, in the first six months of the year it has been the major urban areas outside of London where the sharpest increase in asking prices for Prime properties took place.
Sheffield (+10.6 per cent), Bristol (+9.7 per cent), Greater Manchester (+7.9 per cent) and Cardiff (+8.1 per cent) all recorded rises more than three times that of the capital, where Prime asking prices increase by just 2.7 per cent. Leeds saw a 5.5 per cent rise.
Only Merseyside (-0.8 per cent) has recorded slower growth in the Prime segment than London.
