Former hos­pi­tal gets a star­ring role

THE Purey Cust build­ing in York is look­ing much more as its orig­i­nal ar­chi­tect Wal­ter Bri­er­ley in­tended af­ter re­cent ad­di­tions were stripped away by de­vel­op­ers YO1 Prop­erty and GEM Con­struc­tion.

In May this year, the former hos­pi­tal was used as a film set for new six-part ITV se­ries,

Builders con­tin­ued on the project fi­nanced by San­tander Cor­po­rate bank­ing in July and the first three apart­ments and three town­houses are due to go on sale in May next year.

Mike Green, of GEM Con­struc­tion, says: “We have re­ceived in­ter­est in the prop­erty from all around the world, as well as here in the UK. Our re­la­tion­ship with San­tander Cor­po­rate Bank­ing is help­ing us achieve our am­bi­tion.”
