NATIONAL property consultant Carter Jonas’s Yorkshire-based residential team is reporting an encouraging start to 2012 after a number of successful sales.

Activity levels are higher for the first month of 2012 than for the same period in 2011. Viewings have also increased compared to last year.

Tony Wright, head of residential at Carter Jonas in Yorkshire, said: “So far 2012 is looking a lot more positive that 2011, with more enquiries, viewings and sales. Although it is still early days it seems that many people’s attitudes have changed and they want to get on with their lives rather than wait around for the property market to stabilise. Time will tell if this will be a flash in the pan or an ongoing trend.”
