I can see for miles... the stunning eco-house that has views to envy
“At the same time I wanted it to have a Mediterranean feel whilst keeping the beauty of Yorkshire stone.
“We built the house on three levels as we wanted one level straight out onto the garden, the next level with a large terrace with views over the garden and beyond and the top floor with terraces from the bedrooms and a wide bridge, making full use of the uninterrupted views of the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.”
Eco and energy efficient features include a rain water harvesting system that feeds the toilets, washing machine and garden, a heat recovery system and an air source heat pump. It is also easy to clean. All the windows have self-cleaning glass and there is a central vacuuming system.
The project took 18 months and the result is a stunning home full of bespoke features made by joiner Yaakov Yehezkiel.
It boasts a galleried hall, double height living room, study, dining kitchen, utility room, cinema room, music room, games room, gym, master bedroom suite, five further bedrooms and five bathrooms, a double garage and large gardens.
An AMX smart home system enables Rafi to control everything from the security and sound system to the heating and lighting from anywhere in the world. He can even open the door remotely via his mobile phone or ipad.
“My son and I are very technically minded. As the saying goes ‘little boys and their toys’. We had great fun sourcing and then using everything,” says Rafi who is now reluctantly selling to relocate abroad.
“We love the beauty and security of Bracken Park, the view and the neighbours.
“We have enjoyed every moment living in our home and the only reason that we are leaving is because we are moving out of the area.
“If we could pick up the house and the stunning gardens and view we would have loved to but that is impossible.”
