OVER 17,000 house sellers will be moving home this year because of problem neighbours, according to research by Rightmove.

Rightmove’s Consumer Confidence Survey measured people’s motivations for moving over the next 12 months, and among the staple property market drivers of death, debt and divorce, were 2 per cent of people stating that they were moving out because they “don’t like their neighbours”.

Rightmove’s Director Miles Shipside says: “Home movers carry out lots of research before they buy their next home, including what prices are being paid in the street, but the first time they meet and size up their neighbours is probably after they’ve moved in.”
