Over 45s show price pessimism
THE latest Knight Frank/Markit House Price Sentiment Index, shows the over 45s are more pessimistic.
The under-45s expect house prices to rise over the next 12 months while those aged over 45 forecast that the value of their home will fall over the next year. Those aged over 45 possess most of the housing equity throughout the UK.
However, the trend is also seen among those renting.
Six of the 11 regions in England and Wales expect increases. Londoners remain the most upbeat about price rises. Households in Wales also thought the value of their home would increase. In contrast, that outlook reversed sharply in Yorkshire and the East Midlands.
