Good news for new home sales

PER­SIM­MON says its York­shire house sales have been strong in the first six months of the year.

Wayne Grad­well, manag­ing di­rec­tor Per­sim­mon Homes West York­shire, says the com­pany made an ex­cel­lent start to 2012 with un­der­ly­ing pre-tax profit for the group up 65 per cent on last year at £98.7m and le­gal com­ple­tions in the UK up six per cent to 4,712.

“Al­though the mar­ket re­mains con­strained, the start to the year has been ex­tremely promis­ing, with weekly pri­vate sales reser­va­tions up 18 per cent. In the com­ing weeks and months we will open new developments in Hip­per­holme and Gar­forth and have al­ready wel­comed hun­dreds of vis­i­tors to our new show homes in Wath-upon-Dearne, Brad­ford and Yeadon.”
