Water tower works makes TV debut
THE 100th episode of Channel 4s Grand Designs, screened on Wednesday, featured Leeds-based architects WSM Acanthus.
The award-winning firm was responsible for the concept, design and detailed planning consent for the imaginative conversion of a 150-year-old Victorian Water Tower in central London.
The grade two listed tower was transformed into a luxury house over nine floors.
WSM managing director Jonathon Wingfield, said: “The combination of a tight programme and soaring budget made for a very stressful project, though we weren’t involved in the build. We are delighted it was chosen for the 100th episode of Grand Designs.”
