Av­er­age home val­ues rise

THE value of the av­er­age home in Bri­tain has risen by £3,373 (1.5 per cent) over the last year, ac­cord­ing to new data from prop­erty por­tal Zoopla.

The av­er­age home value across the coun­try now stands at £226,369

The in­crease in prop­erty val­ues over the past year was seen in all but three re­gions of Bri­tain. York­shire is among those who saw a small de­cline, of 0.5 per cent. The North West was down 2.5 per cent and Wales 1.4 per cent.

Prop­erty prices in Lon­don have con­tin­ued to rise at a far faster pace. The av­er­age home value in the cap­i­tal rose by £30,259 or 7.3 per cent, while the South East saw a 3.4 per cent in­crease in av­er­age val­ues.
