Brick maker builds on its rep­u­ta­tion

THE York Hand­made Brick Com­pany, one of the lead­ing in­de­pen­dent brick­mak­ers in the coun­try, has won three cat­e­gories in the pres­ti­gious 2012 Brick Awards.

York Hand­made, based at Alne, near Eas­ing­wold, in North York­shire, won the Best Sin­gle House, the Best Crafts­man­ship and Spe­cial­ist Brick­work Con­trac­tor cat­e­gories.

Chair­man David Ar­mitage said: “This is our best re­sult ever in th­ese awards. Huge thanks are due to the man­age­ment team and em­ploy­ees at York Hand­made for their imag­i­na­tion, en­ter­prise and hard work,”

The judges paid trib­ute to York Hand­made’s work at Tupgill, near Mid­dle­ham, where they cre­ated a wine cel­lar.
