Market activity set to improve

Yorkshire Post - Property - - PROPERTY -

HOUSE prices started the year unchanged following monthly price falls over the second half of 2012, according to property market analysts Hometrack.

Although new buyer registrations and property listings were down in January, they are expected to rebound this month.

Richard Donnell of Hometrack says: “The survey results show a greater sense of realism over pricing by sellers which is essential to support sales.

“Compared to this time last year, the percentage of asking price achieved indicator is up across all regions.

“We expect market activity will post a seasonal improvement in the coming months but pricing levels are set to remain broadly stable.”
