Work starts on Bootham site
WORK has begun to transform a grade II listed former school into homes in York.
The work is part of the first major new housing development to be built within walking distance of York city centre for more than four years. The £5.5m project, known as Bootham Green, will see 24 townhouses and 14 contemporary homes created at Shipton Street in Bootham. The site is being developed in a partnership between Yorkshire based Rushbond Group and Advent Developments.
Esh Construction has been appointed to carry out all building work which will be completed towards the end of the year. Prices start from £125,000 and Hudson Moody is marketing the properties.
