Work starts on Bootham site

WORK has be­gun to trans­form a grade II listed former school into homes in York.

The work is part of the first ma­jor new hous­ing devel­op­ment to be built within walking dis­tance of York city cen­tre for more than four years. The £5.5m project, known as Bootham Green, will see 24 town­houses and 14 con­tem­po­rary homes cre­ated at Ship­ton Street in Bootham. The site is be­ing devel­oped in a part­ner­ship be­tween York­shire based Rush­bond Group and Ad­vent De­vel­op­ments.

Esh Con­struc­tion has been ap­pointed to carry out all build­ing work which will be com­pleted to­wards the end of the year. Prices start from £125,000 and Hud­son Moody is mar­ket­ing the prop­er­ties.
