North heads list for price hit properties
THE number of properties that have had their asking price reduced at least once has fallen to its lowest level in more than two and half years, says Zoopla.
The proportion of reduced homes on the market now stands at 31.5 per cent, which is down from 36.7 per cent a year ago.
Romford, in Essex, has had the biggest price reductions in the UK at 10.3 per cent off the original asking price, followed by Blackpool at 9.9 per cent and Swansea at 9.8 per cent. London has one of the lowest percentages of price-reduced properties at 26.7 per cent. The 10 areas with the highest proportion of such properties are all in the North. Wigan tops the list with 42.6 per cent, Barnsley is 41.2 per cent and Rotherham is 40.9 per cent.
