Persimmon builds on regional success
THE director in charge of Yorkshire housebuilder Persimmon Homes says that a strong performance from the county helped the business achieve successful end of year results.
Simon Usher says: “We’re one of 24 regions but the performance here in Yorkshire helped the group increase legal completions of new homes by 6% to 9,903 at an average selling price of £175,640. Our revenues also increased by 12% to £1.72 billion compared to £1.54 billion in 2011.” The group’s profitability continued to improve and operating margins for 2012 increased to 13%. Persimmon is set to open sites in Easingwold, Hornsea, Retford and Thirsk this year.
