Per­sim­mon builds on re­gional success

THE di­rec­tor in charge of York­shire house­builder Per­sim­mon Homes says that a strong per­for­mance from the county helped the busi­ness achieve suc­cess­ful end of year re­sults.

Simon Usher says: “We’re one of 24 re­gions but the per­for­mance here in York­shire helped the group in­crease le­gal com­ple­tions of new homes by 6% to 9,903 at an av­er­age sell­ing price of £175,640. Our rev­enues also in­creased by 12% to £1.72 bil­lion com­pared to £1.54 bil­lion in 2011.” The group’s prof­itabil­ity con­tin­ued to im­prove and op­er­at­ing mar­gins for 2012 in­creased to 13%. Per­sim­mon is set to open sites in Eas­ing­wold, Hornsea, Ret­ford and Thirsk this year.
