Former halls to be turned into homes

BAR­RATT York­shire West has se­cured a ma­jor devel­op­ment site in Adel, with a gross sales value es­ti­mated to be £62m.

The house­builder has ac­quired the first phase of land on the old Bod­ing­ton Hall site, pre­vi­ously owned by the Univer­sity of Leeds as halls of res­i­dence.

The first phase of the new site will in­clude 106 prop­er­ties.

Bar­ratt York­shire West tech­ni­cal di­rec­tor Dave Hud­son says: “We are de­lighted to have se­cured this high-pro­file project in Leeds.

“Our York­shire port­fo­lio is ex­pand­ing fast with 14 new schemes in the pipe­line for 2013 that will pro­vide 1,700 much­needed new homes and un­der­pin thou­sands of jobs across the re­gion.”
