Flat­share de­mand high and ris­ing

AC­CORD­ING to the lat­est fig­ures from global flat­shar­ing web­site Easy­room­mate, de­mand for ac­com­mo­da­tion has stayed con­sis­tently high, with the num­ber of peo­ple search­ing for a room across the UK reach­ing nearly 40,000.

Fe­bru­ary is usu­ally one of the qui­etest months. How­ever, 2013 has wit­nessed some of the largest num­bers of peo­ple ac­tively search­ing for ac­com­mo­da­tion. In 2012 there were 36,886 peo­ple look­ing for a room on the site, while last month there were 37,468 flat­shar­ers, an over­all in­crease of two per cent.

Jonathan Moore, di­rec­tor of Easy­room­mate says: “With the tough eco­nomic cli­mate, more and more peo­ple are look­ing for alternative ways to save money.”
